Catherine Laverty

Catherine has been working in healthcare for over 20 years, as a nurse initially, and then as an acupuncturist and naturopath. She treats people with a variety of conditions, specialising in women’s health.

The combination of her BSc in Nursing and Diploma in Acupuncture and Naturopathy, allows
her to use knowledge and understanding of health conditions from both a western and eastern medicine perspective.

She obtained her Diploma in Acupuncture and Naturopathy from CNM in 2010.  Since then, she has completed a variety of post-graduate study, mostly in the area of women’s health. She has a Diploma in TCM Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Acupuncture awarded by Dr Trevor Wing, and has studied with other teachers such as Sarah Budd, Debra Betts, Deirdre Courtney, Jani White, and Jane Lyttleton.

Catherine has lectured extensively and has authored several learning modules for third level acupuncture courses in the College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Catherine enjoys treating women during their reproductive journey from menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, through to menopause. In addition to acupuncture, Catherine often recommends specific Bach Flower remedies that complement the acupuncture and its healing effects.
